I love being a Grandma

Susie Glennan:  Hi my name is Susie Glennan.  I’ve been married since 1982 and am a mom to three, mother in law to one and grandmother to two.  I’ve worked with children in many different capacities since I was a teenager and I’ve loving my new found grandma hood.

Currently I’m the president of The Busy Women Inc. and the Busy Women’s Daily Planner located at www.thebusywomen.com which may keep me busy but doesn’t keep me from rushing home to my family.  Recently my grandson Caden almost died from diabetic shock, he’s ok but shortly after this happened my daughter and her family moved in and now I get to be with my grandchildren all the time.  Caden is 21 months old and Matthew is four.

We call Caden monkey man so I always tease about getting home from work for some monkey loving.  When I walk through the door he runs to me with hands squeezing the air to greet me.  I was speaking with Kelly McCausey telling her of all my grand baby stories and she told me I should tell them on Baby Talk Radio so here I am!

When I decided to tape Caden boy did he perform.  After Caden got out of the hospital he wasn’t talking or walking.  Now he is running, climbing and learning new phrases every day.  His recent phrase showed up when something fell and he said “ought oh what did you do?”  He cracks me up.

It was so funny when I took out the computer to tape him as if he knew what I was trying to do he said every phrase that makes me smile.  I never thought at 42 I’d be talking baby talk and repeating everything my grand son says. And then today I caught myself talking about potty training with a friend.

When his daddy is gone or out of sight for too long he searches for him, calling for him all over the house and usually tells me to find him.  I think the funniest thing he does is he uses different tones and reflections in his voice. He doesn’t say I want mommy, he raises his tone of voice and sort of hums.  And that’s my grand baby Caden
