Our Contributors get to share their message and promote themselves, their own shows, books, websites, etc - and listeners get a great show with lots of variety to look forward to in each episode.
How do I apply?
First, claim your free membership on the main
page. You'll receive an email with information
on how to express interest in becoming on our our
regular Contributing Hosts or a Guest Contributer.
Does it pay?
Not at this time.
How do I
contribute my audio segments?
If you know how to create your own Mp3 files you can
do so and email the segments in. Or you can
use our recording line to phone in your segment.
How long should my
segments be?
The Podcast is about 15-20 minutes in length with
four or five Contributing Hosts per episode.
Individual segments need to be two to four minutes
in length. We encourage you to create 'series'
of segments where you continue your topic over
several different episodes.
How often will the
Baby Talk Radio be published?
We expect to podcast at least twice a week,
maybe more often if there is enough quality content
flowing in.
How often do I
need to contribute?
Because Baby Talk Radio is a joint project, we don't
expect every Contributing Host to have a presence in
each episode. Regular Contributing Hosts are asked
to submit a segment at least twice a month and as
often as once a week. If you feel that you
cannot submit content that often, you should
consider being a Guest Contributor when time allows.
So I just send you
my audio and that's it?
Well, almost. For every audio segment,
we'll need a text description of the content.
It doesn't have to be long, just enough to be
informative. (These descriptions will help us blog
about our episodes.) If you reference any
websites or additional resources in the show, send
these links along with your description and we'll
make sure that it gets included for our visitors.
Who decides if a
segment runs on the show?
Baby Talk Radio will monitor segments to check
for an appropriate variety of content for each
episode and does reserve the right to refuse
segments that it does not wish to use.
What is a Guest
Contributor?
Anyone who is unable to commit to a regular segment
schedule but that would like to submit content
occasionally for consideration is welcome to.
Segments will be reviewed and chosen for inclusion
on a case by case basis.
Can I promote my
own podcast/website/book in my segments?
If your segment sounds like a commercial all
about you, it won't be used - but we encourage you
to close your segment with an invitation to
listeners to come check out your website.
Please do not repeat your website URL more than once
- that can get really irritating for a listener.
Remember, every Contributing Host has their own page on Baby Talk Radio and you can link to your own sites and projects from this page so it's easy to just remind listeners to visit your Host Page on the site for more information.
What can I put on
my Host Page?
A bio, a photograph of you and your family, links to
your websites.
Can I change the
info on my Host Page?
Sure you can. Just send your changes to
members@babytalkradio.com.
Who owns my
content?
By contributing to Baby Talk Radio, you give Baby
Talk Radio the right to use and distribute the
content both via the podcast and by CD (we will be
offering the podcast on CD for those who cannot
access the program online). You always retain
ownership of your content and can utilize your
segments in any way that you desire.
Is there anything
else expected of me as a Contributing Host or Guest
Contributor?
Yes! We expect all of our Contributors to lend a
hand in promoting Baby Talk Radio. Simply put,
we ask that you let your circle of influence know
about your involvement with the show. Blog
about it, add it to your media page, mention it to
your mailing list and consider sending out a press
release to your local media. The sooner that
Baby Talk Radio grows, the sooner that we all
benefit from the joint exposure!
